“Yankee by
birth, Texan by choice!” After being raised in a suburb of Chicago,
Jerry came to Corpus Christi to become a biologist! However, before
graduating from what is now Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, Jerry saw
there was no light at the end of the “biology tunnel” and changed to
an accounting major. His first accounting position was with one of the
accounting instructors at Porter & Frazier CPAs where he worked for 1
½ years.
After working at his first
accounting job, Jerry began with the firm of Flusche & Hatch in 1975.
He became a partner in 1979, opened an office in San Antonio for the firm,
and later returned to Corpus Christi in 1983 to assume the leadership
role. While Jerry’s initial experiences were in taxation, he is now in
charge of the audit, accounting and consulting areas of the firm of
Flusche, Van Beveren & Kilgore, P.C. His favorite quote always seems to be: If
you can measure it, you can manage it!
Jerry has been married to
Becky, his Corpus Christi sweetheart, for almost 40 years. Their oldest
daughter is married and lives in Chicago with the three grandchildren.
Their youngest daughter is a doctor in residency in Albany, New York.
During their spare time,
Jerry and Becky are active in their church, enjoy the beach in Port
Aransas, and take their Bichon dogs anywhere they want to go. |
